Dwayne Johnson did not appear in the movie F9 but will make a cameo in the post-credits scene of Fast X.

Johnson previously stated that he had no intention of returning to the main Fast & Furious film series.

The news of Johnson's return aligns with a report from March that mentioned the shooting of a cameo.

The cameo was initially speculated to be Gal Gadot's return as Gisele Yashar, but it is actually Johnson reprising his role as Hobbs.

Johnson's appearance in Fast X's post-credits scene is likely setting up his role as a leading player in Fast & Furious 11, directed by Louis Leterrier.

Vin Diesel recently teased the possibility of concluding The Fast Saga with a trilogy, suggesting Johnson's potential involvement in Fast & Furious 12 as well.

Dwayne Johnson joined the franchise in Fast Five as Luke Hobbs, a DSS agent initially hunting down the main characters but later becoming their ally.

Johnson's initial reluctance to return to the franchise stemmed from his feud with Vin Diesel.

The Rock's return indicates that discussions were held behind the scenes to ensure a working relationship with Diesel, but it does not guarantee a shared screen time between Hobbs and Dom in Fast X.

Johnson's recent projects include leading the DC movie Black Adam and the upcoming film Red One, which will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
